About ICT Days

Welcome to the fifth edition of ICT Days! 

Created in 2009 through an initiative by the  Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Trento, ICT Days - thanks to the intervention of Trento RISE and FBK-Fondazione Bruno Kessler - has become a key event, both at the local and national levels.

Our fifth edition introduces a new approach for reaching a larger audience: Orizzonti 2015. General population, students, startups, and entrepreneurs are all encouraged to embrace the transformation of the Trentino Region into an eco-system of innovation. and a networking opportunity for students, businesses, universities and research centers.

The objective of this fifth edition is to promote social innovation through ICT, in order to increase collective awareness of the potential benefits to the local territory and communities that change can bring.

What is ICT, Information and Communication Technology?

ICT, acronym for “Information and Communication Technology”, is the science that uses an integrated approach to study information processing, transformation and transmission systems. Essentially, it encompasses all the technologies that enable information processing and exchange.

ICT includes several areas, such as computer science, electronics, and telecommunications. It is at the foundation of today’s technological evolution, and is integral to today’s economy, industrial production, everyday’s life … and our future.
